About
I am a curious, hard-working, creative writer advancing my passions while leading the way for others.
I am a creative student who expands her talents to help others. I am an aspiring writer who has attended the University of Virginia’s Young Writer’s Workshop, a prestigious two-week program for young artists (writers, singers, artists, etc.) In May of 2019 I self-published a historical fiction novel, “When Sea Becomes Cemetery” on Amazon.
I pursue my passions with consistent diligence and am quick to apply them to other studies or interests. For example, I volunteer occasionally at my local food pantry. Because volunteering is a passion of mine, my siblings and I performed a holiday concert for the local senior living home, my siblings on piano and me on violin. Violin has long been an interest of mine, and I play violin in a Symphony Orchestra.
I work at a synagogue teaching Jewish students. I find the work meaningful, and while the middle school students do not often show it, I find some gratitude in how what I have taught them shaped them.
Because I love to work with students, I am part of a program that allows me to help middle school students get integrated into the high school. It is a normal class that I help lead. The students here are much older than my younger students, but the lack of appreciation does not discourage me often.
I like to try new things, to chase new ideas or events - literally. I run on my Cross Country team, an example of one of the many new sports I tried many years ago. As an elementary student, my mile time was good at over eleven minutes, a time I frown at now. However, it was that poor time and lack of enjoyment in running that made me realize, many years later, how failure can mold me into something new.
